ATC and STC 2017

This year, cadets from our Secondary 2 and Secondary 3 squads attended the Adventure Training Camp (ATC) and Survival Training Camp (STC) respectively, together with the rest of Area 15. The camp was held from 3 to 5 March, at Pulau Ubin Camp Resilience. Here is a reflection from the Secondary 3 squad:

Having attended ATC last year, we were not unfamiliar with Camp Resilience or the requirements of the camp, but we were looking forward to the camp nonetheless as it would be our last camp there.

Activities this year include pioneering, fire starting, Advanced Rope Challenge and the highly anticipated Double Flying Fox. Unfortunately, due to the wet weather, the Advanced Rope Challenge was cancelled for a few of us. Nevertheless, we fully enjoyed the activities that we were able to participate in, especially the Double Flying Fox, as it was the first time most of us experienced it. The experience was thrilling and fun, and definitely exceeded our expectations.

Campfire night was also particularly memorable for us, as we combined with ATC and were able enjoy the night together. Performances ranging from skits to cheers highlighted the creativity and talents that many of the cadets and teams have and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during the campfire.

Days spent in camp went by in a flash, and before we knew it, it was the last time most of us would be stepping into Camp Resilience. While we were glad to be breaking camp and returning back to our normal live, we were also extremely saddened by the fact that that was the last camp at Camp Resilience that we would be having as a cadet. The friendships that were forged through the camp and the fun we had made STC a truly valuable experience for all of us and a time in our NPCC life that we will never forget.
