Our unit held our CCA Exhibition this year, on 4th January 2017. The purpose of this event was to allow the Secondary Ones to learn more about our CCA. Here is an reflection from our Secondary Three batch:
CCA Exhibition, though not unfamiliar to our squad, was an enriching experience. One of the major improvements was making the booth more conspicuous and accessible by changing the booth’s location to where most of the booths were situated.
Of course, the highlight of CCA Exhibition for our squad was the Rifle Performance, which we had prepared tirelessly for almost two months prior to the performance. We had not expected the process of choreographing, learning, and teaching juniors to be so tedious. This gave us a taste of what awaited us as seniors, and better prepared us for the task. We faced numerous obstacles along the way as we wanted the performance to be interesting for the performers and engaging for the Secondary Ones.
Yet, it should not not be too complicated and challenging to memorise and execute. Though the time was tight and the process was taxing, we managed to complete the choreography satisfactorily with our determination to put up the best performance and the cooperation of our juniors.
Initially, not many Secondary Ones displayed interest in our first performance. However, after our subsequent performances, more gained interest in our CCA. It was definitely a memorable experience putting up a self-choreographed rifle performance in front of the entire school, especially since it was our one and only chance to showcase our performance. We believe that we have achieved our aim of encapsulating the core values of our CCA within this showcase: resilience, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence.
